After the Brazilian Grand Prix Qualifying Sprint Race Sebastian Vettel joked about the fine Max Verstappen received for touching Lewis Hamilton’s rear wing.
After Friday’s Brazilian Grand Prix Qualifying Max Verstappen touched his own and then Lewis Hamilton’s rear wing under parc ferme conditions, which is not allowed.
To make matters worse, the FIA was investigating that very rear wing for a DRS infringement. However, after much deliberation, the FIA decided to get Verstappen off easy by handing him a €50,000 fine, but no grid penalties.
After the Sprint Qualifying race, Sebastian Vettel parked his car behind Hamilton’s and made a little joke with his race engineer.
“Thank you, I’m going to touch Hamilton’s rear wing,” the German said.
To this his engineer responded: “Don’t you dare, very expensive!”
“I’m joking. I’ll try the front wing, maybe it’s 25 Grand,” joked Vettel.
