Ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s 300th F1 race, Fernando Alonso congratulated the Briton and called him “a tremendous driver” and “a legend of our sport”.

Ahead of the French Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton’s 300th race, two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso was asked to give his opinion of his former team-mate.

“I don’t think that he has changed much, to be honest,” Alonso said.

“He had the talent already in 2007, he still has the talent now with experience.

“He has been a tremendous driver, a legend of our sport, so it has been always a pleasure to share all this time with him.
