Lewis Hamilton’s assistant Angela Cullen says the Monaco Grand Prix weekend is “nothing but hectic”, but “always crazy fun”.

Ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton’s physiotherapist and overall right-hand woman Angela Cullen posted a photo of Lewis being weighed and talked about the “tough”, but “fun” race weekend.

“Monaco race week is nothing but hectic but I love it,” Angela wrote.

“This photo is where we weight the driver before he gets in the car… The weight of the driver and car have to meet certain FIA regulations, and so we monitor before and after ever session.

“On race day particularly during a hot race the driver can lose up to 3 kg so ensuring he is well hydrated is critical to performance.”

“It’s race week and street races always pose many logistical problems as the cities are somewhat shut down to host the GP weekend.

“No other race can compare to Monaco in terms of the beauty of its surroundings. Wedged between the Mediterranean Sea and the Maritime Alps, the track winds through the tight streets of this small principality lined with 1000s of avid GP fans.

“The commute to work is either by boat or bike, with plenty of evening events to get out on the water…

“As it’s a back to back with Barcelona the team has worked around the clock to pack everything up from Barcelona and get it [to] Monaco, and quickly set up in time for Friday practice session…

“Always a tough week but always crazy fun. Let’s go,” Cullen concluded.
