Valtteri Bottas managed to beat his team-mate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying for the third time in 2020. The two drivers give their first comments on the session.
“It’s such a nice feeling to get it on the last lap and on the last chance,“ said the Finn.
„So, the last lap in Q3 was spot on and it was nice to get it together, but seemed pretty tricky with short practice and getting the tyres in the sweet spot, which was one of the bigger things today.
“We were leaving at the same time out of the garage, but it was [Lewis Hamilton’s] time to go first, but there are different things that you can do on the outlap. Ultimately got the tyres there and the lap was good.
“Hopefully, we can have a good start,” concluded Bottas.

Lewis Hamilton was, naturally, disappointed about missing pole, but plans on being ready for tomorrow.
“I’m sure when I look at the data there will be plenty of time [missed], he’s two-tenths ahead,” said the Briton.
“Valtteri did a great job so congrats to him. There’s a lot to play for tomorrow so I need to get my head down.”
