After five years of fighting for top positions in a Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas is now firmly in the midfield in an Alfa Romeo. The Finn says this does not bother him.
Valtteri Bottas has been a Mercedes F1 driver from 2017 until 2021, before he moved to Alfa Romeo in 2022.
Although the Finn insists the leadership position he now holds in his new team is a breath of fresh air, he admits that he does miss certain things about driving for a team like Mercedes.

“But I had enough time to prepare myself for this chapter in my career. I basically just reset all the expectations and goals.
“If I see Lewis or George on the podium, I don’t feel bad about it. It [Alfa Romeo] is my team and my targets are different now.
“What gives me satisfaction is maybe a different result than what it was a few years ago,” Bottas concluded.
