After dismissing George Russell’s statement that Ferrari is the “strongest” team right now, Carlos Sainz now does the same about Lewis Hamilton’s comments.
After seeing Ferrari’s performance at the Bahrain Pre-Season Test, many are saying the Italian team are favourites in 2022.
After the second day of testing Lewis Hamilton said it would be an “one-two” for Ferrari if the race was held that Sunday, while on the final day of testing he said:
“I think Ferrari look to be the quickest, perhaps Red Bull then maybe us or McLaren, I don’t know.”
“Currently, we’re not at the top,” Lewis concluded.
Well, Carlos Sainz disagrees, and warns those predicting that Ferrari is the top team are ‘falling into a trap’.

“It’s typical Mercedes, typical Lewis, nothing new to me,” Sainz said.
“Everyone is impressed like everyone was impressed in ’18, ’19, ’17 and we all know that testing means nothing, so I don’t know why people keep falling into the same trap year after year of trying to analyse testing too much.
“I don’t understand why people keep falling into the same trap of trying to conclude who is fastest without really knowing what the others are doing. It’s the same story as every year.
“We really don’t care, we really don’t understand how people keep doing this but it’s how it is and now we focus on ourselves,” the Spaniard concluded.
