Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc says he is “pretty sure” that Mercedes will “carry over the good things about the car and be quick” in 2023.

Mercedes has been struggling behind Red Bull and Ferrari for the first half of the 2022 season, however, after the winter break they managed to start seriously improving.

By the end of the season Mercedes was even ahead of Ferrari when it comes to race pace, and almost beat the Italian team for P2 in the championship.

After the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was asked if he thinks Mercedes will return to the top in 2023.

“I’m counting on them,” Leclerc said.

“This season you never knew what to expect from them. You never knew if they will be slow or fast. Especially in qualifying. They are usually better positioned in the race.

“I’m pretty sure they’ll carry over the good things about the car and be quick,” he concluded.
