While many observers are saying Formula 1 should do something about Red Bull’s total domination, Christian Horner warns against any rule changes for 2024.
Red Bull’s complete domination of Formula 1 is the main story of the first half of the 2023 season.
The Austrian team’s car is obviously so much faster than everyone else’s, that races are not even a competition at the moment.
This prompted many observers to suggest the FIA and Formula 1 should do something to slow Red Bull down.
However, unsurprisingly, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner warns this would be a mistake.
“Well, every week [the pecking order behind Red Bull] keeps changing,” Horner told ESPN’s Unlapped podcast.

“And, you know, one week it’s Ferrari, next week it’s Mercedes and then McLaren have turned up and Aston Martin were there at the beginning of the year.
“So every time we look over our shoulder it’s somebody else that’s there. And that in many respect has helped us of course, but yeah, it’s insanely close.
“And with stability in the rules, there will always be convergence. If you want close racing, just leave the rules alone and you will always find the teams, you know – they will converge, the cars will converge.
“And so I totally expect next year to be a whole different kettle of fish to this year,” the Briton concluded.
