Red Bull team boss Christian Horner recently won a tour of Mercedes’ F1 factory at an auction, but it seems it’s not going to happen.

Mercedes offered a tour of their Brackley factory at the Autosport Awards Charity Auction, and Christian Horner seems to have won it.

More precisely, the man whose £4,000 offer had won the auction was signed as ‘Chrisrian Horner’. However, it was later confirmed by Horner that it indeed was him.

However, it now seems that the tour will not happen, because the terms and conditions of the prize say: “Please note that employees of other Formula 1 teams are not eligible to take this tour”.

A Mercedes spokesperson told The Sun that they have yet to discuss this situation.

“We haven’t discussed it yet,” the spokesperson said.

“But to do so, we’d have to waive the terms and conditions under which it was offered.

“Always pays to read the small print.”
