Daimler AG chairman Ola Kaellenius respods to recent reports that Mercedes is planning a meeting to discuss its Formula 1 future.
Autocar.co.uk and RaceFans.net reported that Daimler will discuss Mercedes’ Formula 1 future at their next board meeting on February 12. However Reuters reports that Daimler boss Ola Kaellenius denied Mercedes is considering leaving the sport.
“Not true,” said Kaellenius when asked about it at the German Auto Industry annual reception in Berlin.
Furthermore Reuters reports that a Mercedes source told them there’s no board meeting scheduled for February 12.
Whatever the case may be, the fact remains Mercedes is yet to sign the new Concorde Agreement that would definitely confirm its participation in the sport beyond 2020.
