Former F1 driver David Coulthard talks about the differences between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, and says he expects the title fight to last until Abu Dhabi.

As a guest on the programme Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7 on the Austrian ServusTV, David Coulthard talked about the title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

“You shouldn’t be surprised that of all drivers, these two are fighting for the title,” said the Scot.

“I am convinced that it will continue like this until the end of the season in Abu Dhabi.”

With much talk in the media dedicated to supposed mind-games between the two drivers, Coulthard said he doesn’t think Max can get into Lewis’ head.

“I don’t think Verstappen can get into Lewis’s head. They both have such a strong team behind them, they know they can win races at any time. That breeds an awful lot of confidence.”

Coulthard also explained how the two drivers have very different personalities.

“Those two guys lead their lives completely differently. Lewis flew straight from Monza to New York for the Met Gala. Max spent his time privately in Monaco with the family.

“They are so different. Max likes to keep to himself, Lewis is more extroverted.”

However, Coulthard says the two drivers are similar in one respect: “When they’re on the track, it’s just about winning.”
