Lewis Hamilton’s future Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur says accusations that Mercedes is sabotaging Lewis are “completely out of the scope of the persons who are doing my business”.
In recent weeks, a portion of Lewis Hamilton‘s fans have become very loud in their suggestions that Lewis is being treated unfairly by Mercedes.
Some are even saying that Mercedes could be doing something to purposely slow Lewis down. Unfortunately, cases of online abuse aimed at George Russell have also been reported.
Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, the Daily Mail revealed they received an anonymous e-mail titled ‘A potential death warrant for Lewis’, supposedly from a member of Mercedes, which claimed that the team was purposely sabotaging Lewis.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has since strongly denied the accusations and denied that it was sent by any employee of the team. He also announced the police has been called to find the person who sent it.
Since Lewis will become a Ferrari driver next year, Ferrari’s team boss Frederic Vasseur was asked to give his comments on these accusations.

“Yeah just on this one, and I’m putting my relationship with Toto aside,” Vasseur said.
“How you could imagine that a company with 1,500 people working night and day, pushing like hell to bring upgrades, and for you it’s not enough, but bringing upgrades each races, we could kill one of our cars or damage one of our cars?
“This is completely irrational and nobody in the paddock could do something like this. We are fighting for the championship.
“Each weekend we are trying to score one point more than the other one. How you could imagine that we say: ‘OK, that Lewis, we don’t want to score points anymore with him.’
“For me it’s completely irrational and completely out of the scope of the persons who are doing my business,” the Frenchman concluded.
