Lewis Hamilton says during his two-and-a-half year winless streak there were “definitely moments where you do feel like you let down people down”.
After two and a half years of struggles, at the British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton finally won his first race since 2021.
Now, ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Briton admitted the winless streak was sometimes hard on him emotionally.
“I think through the times, there was definitely moments where you do feel like you let down people down, you feel sometimes embarrassed,” Hamilton said.
“And so to have that experience with those that have been on the road with me for a long time… It was also a real interesting experience for me, because so many of you [the media] have been here this whole time I’ve been here.”

Lewis also said his Silverstone win will hopefully send a message to his fans that he is “not done”.
“Many people growing up watching this in the past two decades – we’ve all been a part of that growing up life together.
“So, I think a lot of people felt it, which is something I hadn’t fully thought of or appreciated. It was a real good reminder of how much love and support there is there.
“And hopefully a reminder, to those who are on the journey with me, that I’m not done,” the Briton concluded.
