After another fantastic Mercedes 1-2, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas gave their opinion on the eventful Tuscan Grand Prix!

In a race that featured multiple crashes and two standing restarts, Lewis Hamilton managed to score his 90th career win and also a point for fastest lap!

“It was all a bit of a daze,” Hamilton said after the race.

“It was like three races in one day. It was incredibly tough today, obviously with a difficult start.

“This track is phenonmenal. Obviously the heat and keeping Valtteri Bottas, who has been quick all weekend, was not easy and I was behind in the beginning.

“All those restarts, the focus that’s needed during that time, it’s really, really hard.

“In the first stint I had to manage my tyres and I didn’t have to stop. Then at the last stint after the restart I was on the softs with Valtteri right behind me. He came out of nowhere.

“It was important that I stayed one second ahead of Valtteri because of the long straight and the DRS. My heart is racing.

“It’s bizarre to be here and have won 90 Grands Prix,” concluded the six-time champion.

Valtteri Bottas wasn’t as happy. The Finn managed to pass Hamilton at the start, but lost the lead after the first race restart and never got it back.

“Disappointing because it was like a dream start to me to the race,” said Bottas.

“I also managed to hold my position at the Safety Car restart and then, I don’t really remember all the phases, but it seemed like there were no opportunities anymore after I lost the position at the second start.

“I’ll just keep pushing trying to get better. It has to turn out well for me at some point,” concluded the Finn.
