Lewis Hamilton says Mercedes mustn’t be complacent during the Formula 1 break, in order to be able to take the fight to their competition once the season starts.
Formula 1 has been on hiatus since March due to the coronavirus crisis, but Hamilton says Mercedes can’t allow themselves to rest.
“Mercedes has to make a full start right from the start,” said the Briton.
“We have to guarantee that we make optimal use of all available tools in order to prepare for use. I’ll probably take a seat in the simulator, which I don’t always like.
“But it is very important that we exhaust all of our options to be ready for the first race weekend. It must be as if we haven’t missed a single Grand Prix.
“If we don’t all manage to grow in this crisis, we’re wasting our time. Nothing is served to us on the silver platter.
“If you want to achieve your goal, you have to want it more intimately than your opponents. There are people out there who are constantly thinking about how they can improve and beat us.
“We cannot allow that,” concluded Hamilton.
