At the Eifel Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton gets his second shot at equalling Michael Schumacher’s Formula 1 most career wins record.

Naturally,  Hamilton was asked what matching Schumacher’s 91 career wins record would mean to him.

“Honestly it wouldn’t make any difference,” said Hamilton on Saturday.

“I’ve got my work cut out tomorrow, and it’s not something that I’m really particularly thinking about.

“If and when it happens it’ll be great, but right now these two are making it pretty hard for me. I’m enjoying this battle I have with the guys.”

The journalists pushed a bit further and asked Lewis if he wants to equal the record as soon as possible and get it over with.

“Not particularly, I’m just not really bothered by it,” insisted the six-time champion.

“You keep asking me questions about it and I can’t tell you. I don’t feel a particular way about it right now.

“I’m solely focused on trying to do the best job I can, and if that gets me a win, then great.

“But of course I’m not looking short-term, I’m looking further ahead, you know?”
