After a race-long battle with Fernando Alonso at the Canadian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton teased the Spanish driver and said: “His reactions are a little bit slow.”

Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have been involved in a race-long battle for P2 at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Fernando first lost his P2 at the start of the race, as Hamilton was able to overtake him, but he later managed to take the position back on Lap 22.

Lewis then chased the two-time champion for most of the race, but was ultimately unable to beat him.

While they were both giving post-race statements in the media pen, Lewis was asked about passing Alonso at the start, and he decided to tease his former McLaren team-mate.

“His reactions are a little bit slow because he’s a bit older now, it’s an age thing,” Lewis joked.

Alonso teased him right back and said: “In Austria in two weeks’ time.”

When a reporter said he was enjoying watching them do battle on the track again, Lewis said: “Me too.”
