Lewis Hamilton does not agree with Max Verstappen’s criticism of his Australian Grand Prix lap 1 overtaking manoeuvre.

On the first lap of the Australian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton passed Max Verstappen to get P2.

Verstappen believed the Briton did not leave him enough racing room and then radioed his team to complain.

After the race he said he believes rules were “not followed”, and added “it’s something for the next races to take into account”.

When asked about the overtake, Lewis had a completely different opinion.

“I thought it was pretty decent,” the Briton said.

“I mean, he braked early and I braked late and I was fully up the inside and I think we both left space for each other.

“I didn’t run him off the road and he didn’t turn in on me.

“So we didn’t touch and that’s racing,” Hamilton concluded.
