Lewis Hamilton says “all the drivers who are here are doing a good job”, so he “would never say” drivers like himself, Max Verstappen or Fernando Alonso are ‘on a different level’.

In a talk with BLICK, respected F1 journalist Roger Benoit asked Lewis Hamilton if he could give “a word” about his “old rival” Max Verstappen.

“What do you want to hear,” Lewis asked.

“All I can say is keep doing what you’re doing,” he continued, “and Max is currently doing an extraordinary job at Red Bull.”

When put to him that he, Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso are “on a different level”, Lewis said:

“I would never say that. All the drivers who are here are doing a good job. But everyone has different requirements, hopes and challenges.

“But I see a lot of parallels with the young Lewis in the young drivers. This is simply great.

“Fernando, Max and I are usually competitive and will go the furthest to achieve our goals.

“I can’t say anything about their personalities, I’ve never sat in their living rooms,” the Briton concluded.
