Over the last few weeks Lewis Hamilton has opposed the FIA’s jewellery ban and even announced that he will not comply with it.
Many observers have noted that the FIA’s insistence on enforcing this ban is aimed at the Briton directly, as he is one of the only drivers on the grid who regularly wear jewellery while in the car.
Lewis has now found an unlikely ally in Red Bull’s Dr. Helmut Marko, who said he sides with the Briton when it comes to this issue.

“I think they have gone too far,” Marko told RTL.
“This should be a personal decision of the drivers. I don’t remember how long Hamilton has been in F1, but he’s been wearing this jewellery all these years.
“So why did they suddenly decide to invent this topic? I think we have enough other things to worry about. We must accept and respect the individuality of each driver.
“Do I side with Hamilton? Yes I do, and this is my honest opinion,” the Austrian concluded.
