Lewis Hamilton jokes he is “a little bit like Tiger Woods with the putting”, but otherwise “just useless” when it comes to golfing.

Lewis Hamilton and  seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady took on Oakland Raider legend Marcus Allen and Dibia Dream founder and CEO Brandon Okpalobi in a game of gold set up by Mercedes’ sponsor IWC Schaffhausen.

The event was held at the Miami Beach Golf Club, and was aimed at raising money for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

After the game Lewis was asked how confident he felt on the golf course.

“I would like to say I’m a little bit like Tiger [Woods] with the putting,” Lewis joked.

“I was always so far away from the pin so I was always having to do the long putts, and every now and then I’d get one of those 10 footers, otherwise I was just useless.”

He also gave his comments on this weekend’s first ever Miami Grand Prix.

“It’s our first time here in Miami and the anticipation for this event has skyrocketed.

“There are a few nerves because there’s going to be so many people here, it’s a new circuit but there’s so much excitement.

“There’s a part of you that’s excited and then there’s the nervous part. It’s a new circuit, there’s not a lot of time to practice, but it’s exciting when you get out and find a new course.

“You get out and you’re discovering all the different features of the circuit and the surroundings. This has been a dream for our sport to be in Miami.

“I’ve been here to see other sports, but our sport will hopefully earn its right to be here this week and put on a great show for everyone,” concluded Hamilton.
