Ahead of the Eifel Grand Prix Mercedes decided to install fresh engine elements to Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas’ cars.

Both Hamilton and Bottas received frest internal combustion engines. As per sporting regulations, the each driver is allowed three ICE units throughout the 17-race 2020 season. It is the third unit for both drivers, so they will not get to install a new one this season without a penalty.

As teams are not allowed to upgrade the performance of the units, Mercedes confirms the new ICE is the same as the previous one.

The two drivers also received new turbochargers. The rules allow for two more fresh units to be installed during the 2020 season. They also started to use new MGU-H units, which are their third and final this season, while Bottas also received his last MGU-K change in 2020.
