After a hearing over two incidents in the final stages of qualifying, the stewards decided not to penalize Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton qualified second at the Austrian Grand Prix, behind his team-mate Valtteri Bottas. However, after the session the Briton was summoned by the stewards for failing to slow for yellow flags and exceeding track limits in a Q3 lap.

In the end the stewards announced that they will take no further action against Hamilton regarding the yellow flags incident and he will keep his position.

“The driver mentioned that he passed a green light panel in Turn 5,” reads the stewards’ report.

“The video footage confirmed that there have been yellow flags and green light panels at the same time and therefore conflicting signals were shown to the driver.

“Taking this into account, the Stewards decide to take no further action.”

Hamilton was found guilty of exceeding track limits in a Q3 lap, but since this was not his fastest time, it doesn’t affect his starting position.
