Lewis Hamilton comments on the fact that Adrian Newey will not be going to Ferrari, and says he has “been privileged to work with two championship-winning teams that didn’t have Adrian”.

After months of speculation it has now been confirmed that Red Bull’s former Chief Technical Officer has signed with Aston Martin for 2025 and beyond.

There has been a lot of talk before the signing was announced, saying that Newey could go to Ferrari to work with Lewis Hamilton, so ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Lewis was asked if he is dissapointed that he will not get the chance to work with the legendary designer.

“Honestly, no,” the Briton said.

“I feel like, whilst I mentioned before that it’d be an honour to work with Adrian, I’ve been privileged to work with two championship-winning teams that didn’t have Adrian.

“I think probably any team would have been happy to have had him, but at the end of the day, you had to do what was best for him.

“It doesn’t change anything for me or my goal or my focus with the next move, so I still believe 100% that there’s lots that we can do,” Hamilton concluded.
