Lewis Hamilton says he wants “racing cars that I get out of completely exhausted after a race, as if I had completed a marathon”.

In 2022 Formula 1 will be introducing completely new regulations and radically different cars.

Because of this, several F1 drivers were asked to describe their perfect racing car. One of those drivers was Lewis Hamilton.

“If it were up to me, we would have V12 naturally aspirated engines, manual transmissions, and no more power steering,” the Briton said as reported by Speedweek.

“I would make it as difficult as possible for the drivers. I want racing cars that I get out of completely exhausted after a race, as if I had completed a marathon.

“Formula 1 should be a sport for real men. Today these young guys come and find it easy for them to find the limit.

“Rather, it should be insanely difficult, so difficult that only the best can do it. And that also means significantly lighter cars.

“That would be my Formula 1,” Lewis concluded.
