Lewis Hamilton says he is “100 per cent committed” to Mercedes and adds “there’s nowhere else that I want to be”.
There has been a lot of speculation in the media regarding the possibility that Lewis Hamilton might be considering leaving Mercedes.
One of the people that allegedly speculated about with was two-time champion Mika Hakkinen, in his weekly talks with Unibet.
However, the comments that were attributed to him could not be found on Unibet’s website, so we decided not to publish them, and it turns out we were right, since Unibet later denied that they have ever been made.
After the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix Sprint Qualifying Lewis Hamilton was asked about these alleged comments.
“I’ve seen a couple of comments from certain individuals that I remember growing up respecting when I was younger,” Hamilton said.
“Ultimately, their comments are silly, and a bunch of nonsense, all in the aim to get headlines to keep themselves relevant.

Despite saying ealier that Mercedes might be out of the 2022 title fight, Lewis is refusing to quit.
“Just because we’ve hit a rough patch, it’s not in my DNA to back out. We are still World Champions and we can fix this, it’s just going to take longer and it’s going to take a painful year.
“I think, ultimately, this is going to be a painful year that we’re going to have to ride out together and with the belief that we can rectify it at some point maybe through the year, or even, worst-case scenario, at least for next year,” concluded the Briton.
