Despite finishing in seventh place at the Italian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton managed to equal two Formula 1 records.
One of those was Michael Schumacher’s record for most points finishes. With his seventh place at the Italian Grand Prix, Hamilton equalled Schumacher by finishing in the points for the 221st time in his career.
Hamilton also equalled Nick Heidfeld’s record of having 41 consecutive classified finishes. Heidfeld held the record for his run with BMW Sauber between 2007 and 2009.
The Briton is two more wins away from equalling Michael Schumacher’s most career wins record and, if he wins the 2020 title, he will equal the great German’s most F1 drivers’ championships record.
At the moment Hamilton sits at the top of the championship standings, 47 points ahead of second-placed Valtteri Bottas.
