Fernando Alonso recently questioned the value of Lewis Hamilton’s world titles, which led to Lewis responding with a photo of himself and Alonso from 2007.

Fernando Alonso recently awkwardly tried to diminish the value to Lewis Hamilton‘s seven world titles.

Lewis answered him with a photo from the 2007 US Grand Prix, where a rookie Lewis finished in P1, ahead of his team-mate, two-time world champion Alonso in P2, along with a thumbs up emoji.

At the post Mexican Grand Prix press conference, Lewis was asked to explain the meaning of this post.

“I gave you [the meaning] – that’s my thumbs up,” Lewis said.

“I don’t really have a lot to say about it. It does make me giggle a little bit to be honest.

“But I have tried to be really respectful over the years and for example, when you’ve ever asked me about who has been the better driver for me I’ve always tried to give praise.

“But it’s definitely interesting to see the comments that are made, but it doesn’t really matter.

“So that’s why I just kind of put the thumbs up,” Hamilton concluded.
