After Lewis Hamilton cooled down following his radio outburst, the Briton said he 1000% believes in Mercedes’ “group of young, super-determined individuals”.
At the Dutch Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton graphically expressed his frustration at Mercedes’ strategy team over the team radio.
However, once he cooled down, the Briton said he has complete faith in his team.
“One hundred per cent we do have the right team,” Lewis said.
“We have got a group of young, super-determined individuals. Some have been here as long as me, and much longer in the team, and who continue to be motivated every year, and I 1,000 percent believe we have the right team in place.
“It wasn’t an easy call [to leave him on medium tyres]. Of course, we can always look back in certain scenarios and say we would have made a different choice.

“But that’s not life, we just learn from it. I was hopeful to get a podium, I was hopeful to get a first or second at least.”
While the Safety Car was out in the final stages of the race, George Russell asked the team to put him on soft tyres, while the team decided to keep Lewis in P1, but on old mediums.
This ultimately led to Lewis dropping to P4. He explains he was feeling good on his tyres, especially in his second stint on hard tyres.
“My tyres were feeling really, really, good. I think I was closing up, right? I would have preferred to have just been on the one stop on the hards.
“The hard was feeling competitive but then we had the stop and I think I was closing up,” Hamilton concluded.
