After Max Verstappen and Red Bull picked up both championships, Lewis Hamilton was asked if he believes this is the beginning of the ‘Max Verstappen era’.

In the closing moments of the United States Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton battled Max Verstappen for the race win.

Unfortunately, the pure speed of Verstappen’s Red Bull was too great for the Briton to be able to keep his P1, and he ultimately had to settle for the second step on the podium.

After winning the Drivers’ Championship at the Japanese Grand Prix, this win by Verstappen also brought Red Bull its first Constructors’ title since 2013.

After the race, Hamilton was asked if he thinks this is the beginning of the ‘Max Verstappen era’.

“It is too early to say,” the Briton said.

“If we get into next year and they’re dominating again, then yes, but the Ferraris have been quicker than them throughout qualifying.

“I think they’ve every single lap probably had better performance on the majority of a lot of the season. Now, all they need to do is pick up their race pace, and they’ll be right with them.

“I think we’ve got a much, much bigger step and steeper hill to climb, but hopefully not impossible,” Hamilton concluded.
