Lewis Hamilton says it’s amazing to see “the Orange Army” at Zandvoort, and adds the crowds there, and at Silverstone, “really are highlights of the year”.
Last year at the Dutch Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton has been heavily booed by fans of Max Verstappen, and British fans at Silverstone have returned the favour this year.
This continued on Friday in Austria, when the crowd could be seen and heard loudly cheering after Hamilton crashed heavily into the barrier.
Despite this, Lewis is full of praise for Verstappen’s fans.
“When you go to Zandvoort and you see the Orange Army, it’s amazing,” Hamilton said.

“It’s great to see so many people come out in force and be so passionate and supportive.
“We’ve experienced times where we have not had people at those races and it was empty. It felt like a practice day.
“And so when you have the crowds there, a few of those really great countries that we get crowds, like Zandvoort and Silverstone, those really are highlights of the year,” the Briton concluded.
