Lewis Hamilton reveals what caused his Sprint Shootout early exit

After his unfortunate early exit from the Austrian Grand Prix Sprint Shootout, Lewis Hamilton says the “Sprint Race doesn’t really matter anyway”.

Lewis Hamilton got eliminated from the Austrian Grand Prix Sprint Shootout in SQ1, after his competitive lap time was deleted due to a track limits breach, and he later got stuck in traffic.

After the session Lewis said the team messed up the timing of his final flying lap .

“Timing wasn’t right,” the Briton said.

“Sprint race doesn’t really matter anyway. I’ll just have some fun from the back.

Lewis then said under normal circumstances he would have qualified much higher.

“It is what it is. I don’t really feel anything about it. I wish I was still out there but not today.

“There’s nothing really to say, could easily have been much further up there.

“But I’ll have some fun at the back,” Hamilton concluded.
