Lewis Hamilton says he believes Formula 1 is making positive “adjustments” when it comes to pushing diversity and inclusion in the sport.
Hamilton has been the most vocal driver in previous years when it comes to introducing diversity into Formula 1 and motorsport in general. During pre-season testing the drivers had a meeting with F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and managing director Ross Brawn, to discuss further steps.
“It was a really good meeting,” Hamilton explained.
“I think it’s a really great first step as Stefano’s taken the time to sit with us all and be open in terms of having this discussion of how we can work together to improve the sport.

“We didn’t necessarily have much of a discussion about it, they explained to us their plans and we can go back to them. There wasn’t anything that had to be done on the spot.
“They are making some adjustments which I think are positive. I think last year there were a lot of slogans but action is needed this year so that was something that was expressed to us.
“We have to make sure we continue to have that conversation, continue to make sure that action is taken this year as we push to have diversity and inclusion in this sport.
“I think we’re aligned with that goal and achieving it together,” concluded the seven-time champion.
