Lewis Hamilton admits he has always hated losing, but has recently managed to overcome this feeling, which led to a longer lasting feeling of happiness.

Lewis Hamilton has occasionally been known to show frustration at the prospect of losing. On the ‘Formula for Success’ he admits he has been able to overcome this feeling.

“I think I have always been someone that has hated to lose but I have somehow, I can’t really explain how, managed to find myself on the other side,” said the Briton.

“I love getting to the end of the race first and the happiness of that lasts a lot longer than it ever did before. It’s somehow shifted, and I think it’s come with age.”

Lewis also explains how he finds it exciting that young people are getting inspired by his journey in Formula 1.

“I never thought I would have people following me, and I realise the importance of what I am doing to people.

“Yes, I love getting up and working with a team towards a common goal. Being a part of a team where you get to put the icing on top of the cake or the finishing touch to getting success with the team, that is super exciting.

“But it’s also the idea that there is probably a young kid watching me realising it is also possible, that is super-exciting for me,” concluded the seven-time champion.
