Lewis Hamilton says he continues to have “a good relationship” with Ferrari’s John Elkann and Fred Vasseur, but his focus right now is on: “How can we beat them right now?”

Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari in 2025, but before that he is still a Mercedes driver until the end of the current season.

This, however, does not prevent journalists from constantly asking him about Ferrari. So, ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, Lewis was asked if he is already in touch with the Italian team.

“I continue to have a good relationship with John [Elkann, Ferrari chairman ] and Fred [Vasseur, Ferrari team boss],” he said.

“So we speak regularly, but I’m not actually in touch with the team. I observe from afar.

“The full focus is on: ‘How can we beat them right now? How can we win?’

“So that’s where all my energy is going,” Hamilton concluded.
