Lewis Hamilton is not pleased with his performance at the Canadian Grand Prix, but he is determined to “try and improve for the next race”.

Although Lewis Hamilton went from P7 to P4 at the Canadian Grand Prix, the Briton afterwards said he was not pleased with his performance.

However, he is happy with the progress Mercedes has been making with their car.

“On one side, I’m happy that we are progressing and we have positives to take from this weekend,” Hamilton said.

“But it was a pretty disastrous afternoon yesterday [in qualifying] and then today, the race was pretty shocking on my side. So I can’t say I am particularly happy with it.

“Today, I could have just driven better. Less mistakes. I was stuck behind Fernando [Alonso] so there was nothing I could really do there.

“Lots of mistakes over the weekend as a whole, but lots of positives to take in terms of performance.

“So, try and improve for the next race,” he concluded.
