Despite struggling throughout the weekend, Lewis Hamilton managed to score a podium at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

After both Red Bulls retired, Lewis Hamilton was right there to snatch P3, behind the two Ferraris. After jumping out of the car, Lewis seemed pretty content with how things turned out.

“Firstly, a big, big congratulations to Ferrari, so happy to see them do well again, that’s such a historic, epic team,” the Briton said.

“It’s great to see Carlos and Charles up there as well, so congratulations to them.

“It was such a difficult race, we struggled throughout practice. This is really the best result we could have gotten.

“Of course, it’s unfortunate for the other two drivers but we did the best we could and I’m grateful for these points.”

When asked if Mercedes could bring upgrades for the next race in Saudi Arabia, Lewis said:

“I’m hoping. I know the guys are working really hard back at the factory. It’s not going to be a quick turnaround, but we all know, as a team…

“I do feel that we’ve been the best-unified team for so long. I know that we all know to just keep our heads down and keep working.

“There’s a long, long way to go,” Hamilton concluded.
