Formula 1 team principals have voted Lewis Hamilton their number one driver of the year, in a poll organized by the official F1 website.
Formula1.com asked all 10 team principals to anonymously submit their top 10 drivers of 2020. Drivers would then get points based on F1’s point system and the points were combined to create a ranking.
Ultimately, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton was voted number one, which definitely is a good accolade, considering team principals are the people who have the most impact on who their teams will choose as their drivers. It is also not surprising if we take into account that Lewis won 11 out of 16 races that he competed in.
Valtteri Bottas was finished ninth after his failed attempt to beat Lewis for the championship
