Martin Brundle and Anthony Davidson discuss Mercedes’ testing problems, but warn that at the Bahrain Grand Prix “they’ll be quite a bit faster”.
Mercedes, by their own admission, were struggling with their car at the Bahrain Pre-Season Test.
Sky Sports’ analysts Martin Brundle and Anthony Davidson have been trying to figure out the pecking order following the test, and they decided to put Red Bull at number one and Ferrari at number two.
Brundle went on to put Mercedes at number three, but attached to it a warning that the German team is not to be dismissed.

“The [Mercedes] car looks a handful but who would you put in front of them? I’d go Mercedes [in third],” Brundle said.
“Don’t write them off, Mercedes. I’m sure when they turn up – even in Race One – they’ll be quite a bit faster.”
Mercedes’ simulator driver Anthony Davidson agreed, saying that there’s more performance to be extracted from the car.
“I still feel like there’s more in it. But it just doesn’t look good to drive and sparked by the bouncing issues they have,” Davidson concluded.
