Max Verstappen says Lewis Hamilton “has to do what he feels is right, and as long as he wants to race – he should do it”.
Lewis Hamilton recently said he is planning on racing in Formula 1 into his forties, and is gearing up for another “multi-year contract” with Mercedes.
Max Verstappen was asked by journalists to give his thoughts on Hamilton’s desire to continue racing for a long time.
“He has to do what he feels is right, and as long as he wants to race – he should do it,” the Dutch driver said.

“We have had great battles and I’m sure that in the coming years, all of the teams will get a bit closer anyway so it will be interesting to see who is up there to fight.”
Since Mercedes has not been able to produce a car that can regularly challenge for race wins in 2022, Verstappen was asked if he misses on-track battles with Hamilton.
“I have had different kinds of battles anyway. As I said before, every driver is different in battling.
“And when you always have to go to the limit and really fight for the position, it is always very nice,” the Dutchman concluded.
