Red Bull’s Max Verstappen gives his comments on the possibility of replacing Lewis Hamilton and driving for Mercedes in the future.

Lewis Hamilton has extended his contract with Mercedes for only one year. Naturally this led to speculation about what will happen beyond 2021, with Red Bull boss Christian Horner saying Mercedes would try to get Verstappen into their car, if Hamilton decided to leave the team.

Max was asked about his thoughts on the possibility of driving for Mercedes.

“At the end of the day, I don’t know what Lewis is going to do,” Verstappen said.

“I just focus on myself. I’m very focused on this year and trying to make it a success.

“It’s so early in the season, with only a shakedown, that those kinds of things I’m not really thinking about at this stage,” concluded the Dutch driver.
