After the first three days of pre-season testing, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says Ferrari seems to have “the most powerful engine”.
Ferrari has been very impressive at the 2022 Barcelona Pre-Season Track Session, with the team even topping day 2 of testing.
After the test George Russell admitted the Italian team looks “pretty fast” and “very, very competitive”, adding that Mercedes is “certainly not ahead”.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff agrees.
“We have the feeling that Ferrari currently has the most powerful engine,” the Austrian said.
“But we’ve only had three days of testing and winter testing can be deceiving.”
However, as expected, Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto disagrees.

“We’re not the favourites, we’re the outsiders,” he said.
Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz added his team doesn’t think they’re as strong as others make them out to be.
“If their numbers point to us being ahead, our numbers don’t point to that,” Sainz said.
“Above all, I wouldn’t believe much about Mercedes, knowing what they’ve done in recent years.
“But I have no idea,” concluded the Spaniard.
It appears the ‘sandbagging’ season has begun!
