Amid speculation about Lewis Hamilton’s future, Mercedes has published a number of social media posts teasing the fans with the possibility of Lewis re-signing with the team.
For example, this included a social media post featuring the #ANNOUNCE hashtag that ultimately talked about Valtteri Bottas signing with Mercedes in 2017.

Well, now they posted a photo of a Mercedes F1 pen and added the caption saying “you never know when one of these might come in handy…”, before giving a list of possibilities: “designing race cars, taking notes, signing stuff”.

Now, we can play dumb and say this is just Mercedes being playful, but it’s fairly obvious the team wouldn’t play like this is they weren’t confident that a deal will be reached sooner or later.
