After being removed from the position of Formula 1 race director, and then leaving the FIA altogether, Michael Masi is set to make his return to motorsport.
Michael Masi, the man whose disregard for the rules and regulations which govern the use of the Safety Car have unjustly prevented Lewis Hamilton from winning his eighth Formula 1 championship, is set to return to motorsport.
Due to his controversial decisions at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Australian was removed from his position of race director, and has later decided to leave the FIA altogether.
However, it is now being reported that Masi is set to return to motorsport as the new Chairman of the Supercars Commission in Australia.

He is set to replace replace outgoing chairman Neil Crompton, who left the position at the end of June.
Reportedly, Supercars is currently in the process of having Masi’s appointment approved by the team owners.
The Commission, which Masi is likely to lead, governs the technical and sporting rules in the category, and its recommendations then have to be approved by the Board.
