Netflix announced its ‘Drive to Survive’ cameras will follow Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, as the Briton tries to match Michael Schumacher’s record at the Russian Grand Prix.

The third season of Netflix’s successful Formula 1 documentary series Drive to Survive is currently in production. The producers of the show, Box to Box Films, have been granted access to Mercedes’ garage for one race this season and it just happens to be this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix.

What makes this piece of information special is the fact that if Lewis Hamilton wins the race, he will match the second most important Formula 1 record – the record for most career wins!

The current holder of the record is Michael Schumacher with a total of 91 career wins, one more than Hamilton. Another interesting stat is that Hamilton won every edition of the Russian Grand Prix since the race started in 2014.

Whatever happens in the race itself, there is no doubt that this episode of Drive to Survive will be a treat for Mercedes fans, as well as all other F1 fans!
