2016 Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg is no stranger to close on-track encounters with Lewis Hamilton. The German driver famously collided with Lewis on numerous occasions during their title rivalry from 2014 until 2016.
Most famously, their collision at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix took both drivers out of the race, no doubt causing a lot of headache for team boss Toto Wolff.
Now, Rosberg chimes in with his thoughts on the Hamilton/Verstappen incident at the British Grand Prix.
“It was a racing incident,” he said.

“I mean everybody is going to the limits, it’s normal when you’re fighting for a race win at the Silverstone Grand Prix, and you’re fighting for a championship, and everything is so closely fought, and you know the importance of becoming out of the first lap first.”
Considering how closely the 2021 championship is fought, Nico is not surprised that there are incidents happening on the track.
“It makes a huge difference on the race results so, racing incidents and just everybody going to the limits.
“It leaves them in a great intense battle. I can’t wait to switch on the TV for the next instalment, because it has definitely ramped up the intensity,” concluded Rosberg.
