Former Mercedes F1 driver Nico Rosberg says he e-mailed his former team after the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, and congratulated them on their driver line-up.
After a difficult season, Mercedes finally scored its first victory of 2022 at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. It was also a first F1 win for George Russell, while Lewis Hamilton completed the team’s 1-2 with a strong second place.
2016 F1 champion Nico Rosberg says he e-mailed his former team afterwards, to congratulate them on their success and their driver line-up.
“I wrote them an email [to] my ex-colleagues in the team, to congratulate them and say how incredible it was and also congratulating them on their driver line-up,” Rosberg said on Sky Sports’ Any Driven Monday

“I think they have such a strong driver line-up. Lewis is still at his very best, and yet George is always there, right next to Lewis, a little bit in front or a little bit behind, so they are so closely matched.
“I think the driver line-up is so strong,” the German concluded.
Rosberg partnered Michael Schumacher at Mercedes from 2010 until 2012, and then Lewis Hamilton from 2013 until 2016. After winning his first F1 title in 2016, he retired from the sport.
