A frustrated Lando Norris had an awkward conversation with Lewis Hamilton after Lewis ‘complimented’ his “fast” car in the cool down room.
After the Hungarian Grand Prix, when third-placed Lewis Hamilton and second-placed Lando Norris met in the cool down room, Lewis’ ‘compliment’ led to an awkward conversation.
“Phew! You guys are fast” Hamilton said
This led to an obviously frustrated Norris (possibly due to the fact that he was required to relinquish P1 to his team-mate Oscar Piastri) quickly snapping back:
“Yea, well you had a fast car seven years ago, man…” he said.
Lewis seemed a bit confused by Lando’s harsh reaction, and he responded with:

“Seven years ago? That’s a long time. Were you even here seven years ago?”
This led to Norris continuing to hammer his point in a relatively hostile manner.
“Well, you had it, you had a quick car, you made the most of it and now it’s us.”
Lewis then clarified his original statement, explaining he wasn’t trying to be negative.
“I wasn’t complaining, I was just complimenting your you about your car,” he concluded.
You can take a look at the whole awkward interaction below.
There's not a lot of 'cooling down' going on here, guys… ????
