Red Bull’s advisor Dr Helmut Marko has reiterated that Red Bull feels they did not breach the 2021 cost cap, and added that “the talks with the FIA are still going on”.

After the FIA announced that Red Bull breached the 2021 budget cap, the team came out with a statement saying they are confident that they were “below the cost cap limit”.

Now, the team’s advisor Dr Helmut Marko again reiterated that the team feels they are innocent.

“I don’t want to say too much, just this: we are still of the opinion that we have not violated the cost-capping rule at all,” Marko told F1-Insider.

While the Formula 1 world is waiting for the FIA to announce what sanctions Red Bull will face, Marko confirms they are still discussion with the FIA.

“The talks with the FIA are still going on. Let’s see what the final outcome is,” he concluded.

It remains to be seen if the team will officially contest the FIA’s findings or accept the penalty that the FIA comes out with.
