Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton said he hasn’t changed his stance regarding the FIA’s jewellery ban, which prompted George Russell to offer his solution.

Lewis Hamilton has received an exemption by the FIA for the Miami and Spanish grands prix, when it comes to wearing jewellery while in the car, however, he is required to remove all of his piercings by the time Monaco rolls around.

Despite this, Lewis has announced that he does not intend to comply with the ban, which could lead to some kind of penalty.

Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix he was asked if he has changed his stance since Miami.

“I haven’t. No news,” the Briton said.

Asked if he had any further discussion with the FIA on this issues, Lewis said:

“I haven’t had any discussions with anybody since the last time I spoke on Sunday of the last race.

“What I am aware of is that those who are married are allowed to wear their wedding ring.”

This prompted George Russell, who was sitting next to him, to quip: “You just need to get married, then.”

To this Hamilton jokingly responded: “No, you first bro.”
